The team to join for a really fun, exciting and rewarding year is the Events Department! Team E is the best place to get a feel for the club as a whole, and enjoy an unlimited range of activities and opportunities. Look forward to running CVC's giant annual talent show Supaskillz, organizing our ever-popular Poker Tournaments, and taking part in our all-new Manhunt City games. We have a lot more in the works, but be prepared to think up and run your own initiatives as well! We have a tight group of energetic individuals, and we're always looking for someone new to contribute original ideas and keep things fresh, so happy people apply now!
Community Department Coordinator:
Are you a caring and giving person that loves helping other people? If you are, you could be the next community coordinator of CVC. Being part of the Community Department will mean planning awesome fundraisers for good causes and volunteering together in a group! What could be better than having a great time and knowing you've made a difference in your community? Join our good times and be part of our department =)
Chin & Chow Department Coordinator
Do you like to laugh? Do you like making people laugh? Are you frequently laughed at?
The Chin and Chow Team is looking for out-going, enthusiastic, open-minded, creative team members for this year's drama theatre production. No experience is necessary. If you are interested in taking part/learning about script writing, video production, and having good f'ing times, the Chin and Chow Team is where you want to be. I have no more space to write so remember and write to chinandchow@ubccvc.com if you looking for more information.
Ski Trip Department Coordinator:
As a Ski Trip department coordinator you are responsible for organizing one of the biggest and most well known ski trips in Western Canada, as well as the largest ski trip hosted by one club at UBC. Last year we had 800 participants, 16 buses, and six figure amounts of cash. It's not something easy to manage, and that's why we're looking for someone that's dedicated, hardworking and most importantly loves to have fun, because that's what our CVC ski trip is about. From promoting, to dance coordination, to registration are some of the tasks that we are responsible for. Apply for our department if you like to ski, board or just chill with friends, we're a very welcoming bunch.
Sports Department Coordinator:
You don't have to be an amazing athlete to join this department! We are looking for people with team spirit and are willing to use sports as a tool to bring people together who also share the same passion. You will meet many members during the course of the year through our tournaments and our organization of intramural teams. If this sounds good to you then go on ahead and apply!
External Communications Department Coordinator:
ExComm is a department with no boundaries and limits. But we'll get back to that in a second. We are the central hub to CVC. Think Front Desk at a hotel, or an information booth at a mall. That is what ExComm is. We provide information to our members and to the general public...currently that's in the form of posters, newsletters, and our website. But we're always seeking new and innovative ways to "do our job"...in quotes because our main goal is to have a blast while doing so. So what we're looking for is:
Graphics Designers
Mad Photoshop skills? Like to see your work plastered all over campus and on our website? This is the position for you!
Note: If applying for this position, please bring samples of your work to your interview! :)
Website Designers
Whether you're a whiz with Dreamweaver, a visionary for online community-building, or a backend server code warrior, we're always looking for those with the skills to keep our website and forums spectacular and useful for CVC members. You'll get to work with (and improve on) all the tools and technologies we use under the hood for this site. You techies out there better recognize. Sense of humour a must.
Street Squad
So like what I said about no boundaries and innovation? This is it. We're looking for creative, energetic people who are willing to meet new people, and are looking for an outlet to express their creativity and fearlessness. The goal? To find new ways to meet, integrate, and communicate with our members. We're looking for people with ideas, not afraid to challenge the limits, and most importantly, out to have a good time! NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Froshee (First-Year Coordinator):
You may be wondering, why does CVC have these special positions just for first years? IT'S BECAUSE FIRST YEARS ARE FREAKING AWESOME. You froshees represent the fresh blood and energy every year that keeps CVC going! We are looking for exciting people who want to exponentially add to the university experience for their fellow students through events, socials and anything else you can think of.
Like to have fun? Like to plan things? Like to use your talents? If so, you like CVC and therefore you should apply.
